Fabric Design

 

I designed two coordinating fabrics for Karen Weaver with One Fun Summer as a freelance job. This was something that I had never tried before. After taking the initiative to learn how to design fabrics, this project was a huge success.

 

• Organized initial meeting with client to understand what she envisioned her fabric to look like in the end

• Drew up a contract as a project based job instead of at an hourly rate, since this was such a learning curve for me.

• Sketched seahorses and developed concept for the coordinating fabrics

• Held client meeting to get approval for my concept for the fabrics

• Researched how to design repeating fabric squares

• Using Adobe Illustrator to draw and design both fabrics

• Received final approval from client
