A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta in 2003. While attending school there, I fell in love with graphic arts and graphic design. I couldn't imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life.
My career started modestly enough at a small marketing firm in Atlanta, GA. I did not stay too long though. In 2005, I was given the opportunity to travel to Australia to live and work for a year. I, of course, accepted. My new responsibilities expanded and although I was still creating brochures, booklets, and the occasional poster, marketing became the main focus of this experience.
When I came back to the states in 2006, I settled in Greenville, SC. I continued to work for the same company that sent me to Australia and traveled quite a bit within the United States. On one of my trips to Los Angeles, CA I met my husband. We had a whirlwind romance and were married eight months later. I moved to California and continued working for the same company, since my position allowed me to work from anywhere.
Soon after, my direction in life did change. In 2009, my husband and
I had a beautiful baby girl and I became a stay at home mom. We moved to Greenville, SC so we could be closer to family. I have been out of the design world professionally for almost five years now. However, I have taken on freelance projects, worked part-time over the years to keep current while also expanding my skills. I have volunteered for many projects that include political campaign pieces, fabric design, preschool yearbooks, and capital campaign pieces for my church. I try to exercise my creative muscles everyday.
It is time for me to re-enter the worforce, my daughter has started school full-time. My job as a mother will never be over, but now it is time to help provide for my family. So, I'll gladly turn to my second love... GRAPHIC DESIGN!
